Date And Time Of IPL Auction 2020
IPL 2020 Auction Latest Update: December 19th, 2019 by 10 AM IST is the date and time of IPL auction 2020 finalized by the governing council for IPL 2020 auction and the same will be conducted in Kolkata instead of Bengaluru. This is the first time Kolkata is selected as the venue of IPL auction. Cricket lovers in Kolkata will be overwhelmed with this decision since it is the home town of Shah Rukh Khan who is also an owner of KKR franchise.
For IPL 2020 season, Rs.85 crore is earmarked for each team; an increase of Rs.4 crores from the amount allotted to each franchise for IPL 2019 season. After the last auction, each franchise might have taken back some amount as balance from the last auction and over and above all these, each franchise will have an extra purse of Rs.3 crores for the upcoming auction. From IPL 2021 onwards, there will be a mega auction and the franchises have to form fresh squads. Hence IPL 2020 auction is going to be the last IPL auction conducted before disbanding the squads by the franchises.

Delhi Capitals will be going for the 2020 auction with a balance of Rs. 7.7 crore, the biggest among all the franchises. DC is followed by RR in second place with a balance of Rs. 7.15 cr and KKR in the third place with a balance of Rs. 6.05 cr. The trading window for IPL 2020 auction was closed on November 14. The most interesting development during the pre-auction build-up was the trading of Ravichandran Ashwin from Kings XI Punjab to Delhi Capitals for IPL 2020 season. Aswin was the skipper of Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2019.
IPL Auction 2020 Full List Of Players With Price
The players who earned very high in the IPL auction 2019 included players from India as well as other countries. However, most of those players who were top buyers in the 2019 auction failed to achieve the desired results. Their performance in the IPL matches was much below the expected level and consequently, they will be sent out from the team by the respective franchises. Now, let us identify the players who will be the top buys in the IPL 2020 auction.
This left-arm quick player claimed 24 wickets in 12 games in the year 2017 when he was in the Rising Pune Supergiant team. In IPL 2018 auction he was picked up by Rajasthan Royals for a hefty amount of Rs.11.5 crore. Since he could manage only 11 wickets out of 15 games at an economy rate of 9.65, RR first released him and then purchased him again for a lower amount of Rs. 8.4 crore. In IPL 2018, he claimed 10 wickets in 11 matches at a very shocking economy rate of 10.66 with an average of nearly 40.
Mohit Sharma became very popular when he won the Purple Cap in 2014 while playing for CSK along with MS Dhoni. Mohit was with Kings XI Punjab for two years and in 2019 CSK again picked him for Rs. 5 crores. He played only in one game claiming just one wicket and giving away 27 runs.
This former South African opening batsman was not very successful in international matches but had his place in T20 cricket when he scored more than 500 runs in the Natwest T20 Blast in 2016. In the subsequent year, he scored two hundred for Glamorgan. Delhi Capitals picked him for IPL 2019 for Rs. 6.4 crore but he could not achieve much. He scored 184 runs from 12 matches averaging below 20.
Though Axar Patel put up a very disappointing performance in IPL season 2018, in 2019 auction, Delhi Capitals picked him for Rs. 5 crore. In IPL 2019 season Patel claimed 10 wickets out of 14 games with an average of 36.40.
Varun Chakravarthy gave a very impressive performance in the Tamilnadu Premier League and he attained prominence when King’s XI Punjab picked him for an exciting amount of Rs. 8.4 crore. However, he could play only one match for King’s XI Punjab and gave 35 runs to KKR in just three overs.
