The Dr DY Patil Sports Academy is located in the outer region Nerul, Navi Mumbai. DY Patil Stadium belongs to DY Patil Sports Academy (DYPSA), which facilitates excellent space sports like football, Tennis, Badminton and Swimming. The stadium includes 4 indoor Badminton courts, 9 Tennis courts and a vast sized swimming pool. DY Patil Stadium is the largest stadium in Mumbai with the total seating capacity of 55000 audiences is inaugurated officially on March 2008. This stadium is the third and latest stadium of Mumbai, remains second largest Stadium in India next to Eden Gardens.
Seating Arrangement
The ground falls inside the DY Patil University Campus and built at the cost of Rs.1 billion. To ensure the spectator’s unobstructed view, the stadium is facilitated with bucket seats in-ground and cantilever roofs to avoid columns or pillars of distraction. The practice ground with 10 pitches has been built adjacent to the main ground. The ground outfield is constructed with sand based formula to drain the heavy pour faster and this sealed underground drainage technique helps to make the ground available instantly. The End names of the ground remain Media end and Pavilion end. They have installed four floodlights, which are taller in height with respect to other stadium lights to avoid the glare in evening matches.

This magnificent stadium was the home ground for Mumbai Indians of IPL from 2008 to 2010. In 2014, DY Patil Stadium has been declared as the home ground for ISL Team of Mumbai City Football Club and hosted Finals of Hero ISL of 2014 between Atletico De Kolkata team and Kerala Blasters. It also witnessed the FIFA U-17 World Cup of 2017 and scheduled for FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup of 2020. This great stadium has witnessed 4 matches of the debut season IPL 2008 including the spectacular final match. Initially, T20 tournament was organised in the University ground, following the success and popularity gained the matches are inaugurated in DY Patil Stadium in its third year of T20 journey. Those tournaments were played by International norms and attracted massive spectators of about 100,000 spectators.
