Abdul Samad is the only 4th player from Jammu & Kashmir to earn IPL contract. Sunrisers Hyderabad signed him for the 2020 IPL season for INR 20.00 lakhs. Sunrisers Hyderabad continued the same salary of INR 20.00 lakh for the next season as well. In 2022, Samad was repurchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 4.00 crore in the IPL Mega Auction.
