The 27-year-old Akash Deep hails from Bengal and made his first-class debut in 2019. The medium-paced bowler has featured in 41 Domestic T20 games and bagged 48 wickets. Apart from bowling, he has also showcased his batting skills with an incredible strike rate of 146.15 in Twenty 20s. Akash Deep was included in the RCB side in the second phase of IPL 2021 in UAE. He got an opportunity to represent RCB in the 2022 IPL, though he played only a few matches for RCB that year.
Akash displayed a noteworthy performance by picking 5 wickets in the 5 matches he played in that tournament. In the 2023 IPL he played a couple of matches for RCB and picked only a wicket. Due to the inconsistent opportunity in the playing 11s, Akash wasn’t able to display his potential as a bowler. It will be interesting to see how the management uses Akash Deep in the team.

After a notable performance in the 2022 IPL, RCB retained Akash for the 2023 IPL.
