However, Farooqi’s journey began in the 2020 U-19 World Cup in South Africa, playing four matches and grabbing five wickets for the team. He was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2021, he played three matches and scalped two wickets with an average of 55.00 and a strike rate of 36.00. Sunrisers Hyderabad retained his services for another season. Farooqi played four matches and picked four wickets with an average of 29.25 and a strike rate of 20.00. Fazalhaq Farooqi was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 IPL Auction. He was purchased for INR 50.00 lakhs. Sunrisers Hyderabad decided to retain him for the same price value in the 2023 and 2024 IPL seasons for the same price value.
