He was released after no chance in first season. Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) decided to add the young explosive batter to the squad in 2017. Kolkata Knight Riders picked him for INR 10 lakhs in the 2018 IPL Auction, and they retained him for the same price value in the 2019, 2020, and 2021 IPL seasons.
