Tom Curran, hailing from the cricketer’s family earned his name into the International side with his deadly yorkers and handy with the bat. Tom Curran’s spot in any franchise has always been uncertain throughout his IPL career. Tom Curran started his IPL journey with Kolkata Knight Riders in the year 2018. KKR purchased Curran for ₹1.62 Crores, however his poor performance led to his exit that year. After being unsold for a year, Rajasthan bought Curran for ₹1 Crore in the 2020 IPL auction. His poor form in the IPL continued again with his new franchise, and again RR released Curran ahead of the auction.
Tom Curran’s International performance hyped up his value in the 2021 auction, Delhi bought him for ₹5.25 Crores. Delhi Capitals included Tom Curran in their already well-established bowling lineup. However, Delhi Capitals released Curran in need of funds for investing in other cricketers in the 2022 IPL auction. Tom Curran had to wait two long years to feature in the IPL again. RCB signed Curran for his base price of ₹1.5 Crores in the 2024 IPL auction. Curran could be a handy addition for RCB, his variations that include plenty of slower deliveries could be deadly on slower pitches. It will be interesting to see how well Tom Curran fits in the RCB lineup.
