It was another underwhelming season for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. Led by their record signing Rishabh Pant for ₹27 crores, LSG won just 6 of their 14 matches to finish seventh on the points table. They started the season well by winning 4 of their first 6 games, but then lost form badly and won only 2 of their last 8 matches.
The team finished seventh for the second consecutive season which brings disappointment to LSG because they reached the playoffs during their inaugural two years (2022 and 2023). The team struggled with poor bowling performance because of player injuries and unstable batting from key players. LSG failed to achieve their best performance from key players Rishabh Pant and David Miller and Ravi Bishnoi. To do better in IPL 2026, LSG will need to make smart choices in the mini auction and let go of players who didn’t perform well.

Lucknow Super Giants Targeted Players in IPL 2026 Auction
Cameron Green
Cameron Green could be a great fit for LSG’s middle order. The Aussie all-rounder can bat anywhere in the lineup and his recent form has been solid. He brings both batting firepower and handy bowling, something LSG really missed in 2025.
Sam Curran
With Mitchell Marsh playing only as a batter, LSG lacked a fast-bowling all-rounder in 2025. Sam Curran could solve that problem. The English left-hander has been in top T20 form, scoring over 1,600 runs at a healthy average and strike rate since 2024, along with 66 wickets. He would strengthen both batting and bowling.
Deepak Chahar
If Mumbai Indians let him go, Deepak Chahar would be a smart pick for LSG. He’s stronger with the new ball and offers better control in the powerplay compared to Shardul Thakur.
Glenn Phillips
New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips could be the ideal replacement for David Miller. He bats with a higher strike rate and can also chip in with some part-time off-spin when needed.
Karn Sharma
If LSG move on from Ravi Bishnoi, they might look at the experienced Karn Sharma. He brings similar leg-spin skills, has plenty of IPL experience, and comes at a much lower price.
Suyash Sharma
If RCB release him, young Suyash Sharma could be a clever budget signing. He’s shown promise in the few games he’s played and could cover Bishnoi’s role.
Matt Henry
LSG’s pace attack has been shaky due to injuries, so New Zealand quick Matt Henry could be a valuable addition. His solid fitness record makes him even more reliable.
Nathan Ellis
Another possible signing from CSK is Nathan Ellis. With Pathirana in their squad, CSK hardly used him, but Ellis is a proven T20 performer. He has 170+ wickets since 2021, and his ability to bowl in all phases of the game makes him a rare and valuable option for LSG.
