Punjab Kings (PBKS), who finally made it to the final of IPL in 2025, announced the complete list of players that they have retained and released on Saturday, November 15. The team chose to remain silent through the trade window before the retention deadline and not made too many changes even after a good run in the tournament.
However, Punjab Kings has released a few big names from their squad prior to the IPL 2026 mini auction, scheduled for December 16 in Abu Dhabi. Among the players who have been released are destructive Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Hardie and star wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis. Kuldeep Sen and Praveen Dubey are the other two players released by the team.
After announcing their list, Punjab Kings (PBKS) head coach Ricky Ponting has opened up on why they released Glenn Maxwell despite buying him for INR 4.2 crore. He said they love what Maxwell brings, but couldn’t get the best out of him in IPL 2025 and didn’t see him in the starting XI this season, so they decided to let him go.
