Gujarat Titans owned by the Adani group debuted in the 2022 IPL season as underdogs. The Titans under the leadership star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and the head coach Gary Kirsten won the title in their first season. The Titans had no big stars in their ranks but a young talented team with consistent performances from Shubman Gill, Rahul Tewatia, David Miller and others paved the path to the teams glory.
After a successful debut season, Gujarat Titans continued their dominance in the 2023 IPL season where they reached the finals and almost won it if not for the heroics of Ravindra Jadeja. In the 2023 IPL finals it was down to GT vs CSK in one of the longest IPL finals. Gujarat Titans fell short by the slightest of margins. But at the end of the season they will be more than happy with the results and success of the team.
The return of Kane Williamson will further strengthen their squad as Williamson can also take the leadership role when the team needs it and guide the teams new captain Shubman Gill. It will be intresting to see how Gujarat Titans will turn up in the 2024 IPL season.

Journey of Gujarat Titans (GT)
The tender for the GT team was initially presented in 2021 August. There were almost 22 companies who expressed their interest in getting franchises. But the base bid was too high for all of them to stand and eventually CVC Capital Partners got the team. There were words that the team’s initial auction method wasn’t effective in grabbing good players. However, the fierce GT team took steps in the field with their astonishing gameplay. Hardik Pandya was designated as captain of the team, and Pandya got appraisals on his strategies and got the team together to perform exponentially.

IPL 2023 – Runner Up
Fans had great expectations from Gujarat after their first victory in 2022. The team with their passionate gameplay won the opening match against Chennai Super Kings by creating momentum. Shubham Gill became the best scorer through the 2023 season. GT team became the first one to qualify for playoffs with their phenomenal field play. The team also had the pressure to prove that their previous victory wasn’t a chance game. The team worked well to prove their title. Gujarat reached the finals with their continuous momentum in the game. The GT vs CSK Final was the headline of the 2023 season but the GT lost this time and became runner-up.
IPL 2022- Champions
Gujarat Titans qualified for the finals by 20 points. The first qualifier round had been with the Rajasthan royals team, where GT won the match by whooping 7 Wickets. Gujarat team faced their opponents Rajasthan Royals in the IPL final in the 2022 season. The match was considered on the side of GT in the first half only, it was hard for Gujarat to work up the team. Hardik Pandya led the team through a passionate and good journey. The team won the match and earned the title of IPL 2022 in their first season.
