Afghanistan started the 3-match series with a good performance. In the last game, they batted first and posted a big total against the West Indies. After which, they also did superb batting performance as well. Ibrahim Zadran was the hero of Afghanistan’s victory due to a good knock in the previous match.
On the other hand, West Indies’ performance in the last match was disappointing. All their top order batsmen proved to be flop. Although their middle order batters tried to bat well, they could not win the match. West Indies will try to make a comeback in this match by winning it.
Head-to-Head Record: Till now, a total of 9 T20 matches have been played between these two sides, in which West Indies performed well and won 5 games, while Afghanistan has won 4. Afghanistan Preview
Afghanistan managed a one-sided victory in the last match where they batted first and put up a huge total of 181 runs, in response to which West Indies could only score 143 runs and Afghanistan won the match by 38 runs. Afghan Atalans performed well in batting first and then in the bowling, as a result of which the West Indies did not appear to make any comeback even once throughout the match.
Afghanistan put up a strong batting performance in the last match. Their top-order batsman Ibrahim Zadran scored 87 runs in 56 balls with a strike rate of over 155. Apart from him, Darwish Rasooli also scored 84 runs in 59 balls with a strike rate of over 142. Following the excellent batting of these two, Afghanistan was successful in making a big score.
In Bowling, Afghanistan did a good job in the last game. Ziaur Rahman being the most successful bowler, taking three wickets for 36 runs in four overs. Afghanistan will definitely want to continue their excellent bowling performance in the next match as well.
Tip
| Player | Tip | Odds |
|---|---|---|
| Ibrahim Zadran | Over 30.5 Runs | 1.85 |
Ibrahim Zadran played a brilliant knock of 87 off 56 balls in the last match and dominated the West Indies bowlers. His current form at the top makes him Afghanistan’s key batter once again and a strong pick to cross this line.
West Indies Preview
West Indies’ performance continues to decline. In the last match too, they lost the match against Afghanistan by 38 runs, where they were not seen making a comeback in the match even once. First their bowling and then their batting, both looked completely out of form, for which they had to suffer the consequences by losing the match.
In batting, the West Indies needed a big partnership, but the top order of West Indies completely looked like a flop. Johnson Charles scored 27 runs in 16 balls, while in the middle order, Quentin Sampson and Matthew Forde played innings of 30 and 25 runs, respectively. West Indies certainly paid the price for a disappointing top-order performance here, but they will hope to see some good batting in the next match.
Even in bowling, the West Indies failed to do anything significant. Despite getting early wickets, West Indies bowlers failed to put pressure on Afghanistan. Afghanistan lost two wickets in the first three overs. Despite this, the third wicket of the match fell on the last ball of the innings. Jayden Seales and Matthew Forde took a wicket each while the other bowlers failed to do much. However, Gudakesh Motie did a good job by stopping the flow of runs with excellent bowling.
| Player | Tip | Odds |
|---|---|---|
| Johnson Charles | Over 22.5 Runs | 1.85 |
Johnson Charles scored 27 off just 16 balls in the previous game and looked positive at the top of the order. West Indies will rely on him to provide a stronger start again, making this a solid over pick.

AFG vs WI Pitch Report
The pitch at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai, generally offers a balanced surface. It is a bit slow initially, which prevents high-scoring matches. Bowlers get help from the surface in the early overs. However, the opposite was seen in the last match, where Afghanistan scored a big score in the first innings. But still this surface will be good for bowlers. Captains who win the toss on this venue often choose to chase the target.
The weather on Wednesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium is expected to be mostly sunny, around 23°C with 0% chance of rain, moderate 43% humidity and strong winds near 34 km/h.

AFG vs WI Winner Prediction
Afghanistan have looked dominant over the West Indies in the last few years. They have consistently put up good performances to put pressure on the West Indies and win matches, especially as the West Indies have yet to find an answer to their spin bowling attack. Therefore, Afghanistan will once again be the favourites to win the second match.
On the other hand, West Indies have a chance to make a comeback in the series by playing well in the second match, however, for that they need to change both their bowling and batting strategy. They need to improve their batting the most, where their batsmen are not playing spin bowling at all.
