Ravindra Jadeja began his IPL journey under the leadership of Shane Warne representing Rajasthan Royals. Impressed by Jadeja’s potential as an all-rounder, with both his batting and bowling skills catching Warne’s eye, Jadeja was released by Rajasthan after the second edition due to his average performance in both roles. In 2011, Kochi Tusker Kerala bought Jadeja for 4.37 Crores. He had a mediocre season, scoring 283 runs and picking up 8 wickets for the team. Unfortunately, the Kochi team was disbanded the following year.
Jadeja’s career shifted gears after he joined the Chennai Super Kings for a hefty sum of 9.2 Crores in 2012. Dhoni’s unwavering support towards Jadeja helped him grow into a consistent contributor to the team. Until 2020, Jadeja was primarily known for his bowling and sharp turn, bamboozling batsmen. However, since then, he has significantly improved his batting, particularly his hitting ability in the death overs. Jadeja finished the 2020 IPL season with an outstanding strike rate of 171.85, and barring 2022, his strike rate in 2021 and 2023 remained above 140. Jadeja’s contribution to CSK over the years is undeniable, regardless of the capacity in which his services are needed.

Ravindra Jadeja IPL Salary
Before making his debut for the Indian team, Ravindra Jadeja began his IPL journey with the Rajasthan Royals, who signed him for 12 Lakhs in the inaugural season. He played for them for two editions before moving on. When CSK was suspended for a year in 2010, Ravindra Jadeja signed with the Kochi Tuskers Kerala for a hefty 4.37 Crores salary in the 2011 IPL season. However, after a lackluster season, he was released by the Kochi Tuskers. Jadeja’s fortunes turned around in the 2012 auction when the Chennai Super Kings snapped him up for a staggering 9.2 Crores, marking a significant jump in his value.
However, despite justifying his high cost with a remarkable performance in the 2013 Champions Trophy, Jadeja’s pay decreased to 5.5 Crores after the 2014 Mega auction. During CSK’s suspension in 2016 and 2017, he played for the Gujarat Lions. When CSK returned to the IPL in 2018 Ravindra Jadeja was retained for 7 Crores. Recognizing his valuable contributions, his pay subsequently increased from 7 to 16 Crores. This demonstrates CSK management’s appreciation of Jadeja’s status as a key player.
