Yuzvendra Chahal, an Indian leg spinner who currently plays for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, started his IPL journey with the Mumbai Indians in 2011. However, he didn’t get many opportunities there. His breakthrough came in 2014 when Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him at the auction. Playing eight seasons for RCB, Chahal has picked up 139 wickets in 114 matches and he holds the record for the most wickets taken by a bowler for Bangalore in the IPL.
In 2022, the Rajasthan Royals picked Chahal for INR 6.5 Crores. He excelled in the Rajasthan Royals setup picking up 27 wickets in just 17 matches and became one of the lead spinners for the team. This stellar performance earned him the Purple Cap, including a hat-trick and a five-wicket haul. He even surpassed Wannindu Hasaranga and Imran Tahir’s record for most wickets by a spinner in a single IPL season (2022). To date, Yuzvendra Chahal has played in 145 IPL matches, taking 187 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal IPL Salary
In IPL 2012, Mumbai Indians bought Yuzvendra Chahal for INR 10 lakhs, marking his first IPL appearance. He wouldn’t play his first IPL match until 2013, however. In 2014, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) acquired Chahal for the same price.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s strong performances for India in 2018 led Royal Challengers Bangalore to increase his IPL salary to INR 6 crore. Over the years, he blossomed into a crucial player for RCB.
