Karn Sharma has been a regular at the IPL but has had his share of ups and downs in the season. He started his IPL journey with RCB in 2009 however he was benched throughout the tournament. The spin-bowling all-rounder made his IPL debut in 2013 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, for whom he picked up 11 wickets in his first season. SRH retained Karn Sharma for the following year as well. He was the second highest-wicket taker for his team in 2014 picking 15 wickets. The 2015 IPL had been his best season, where Karn displayed his all-round performance throughout the tournament. Karn Sharma scored 104 runs and picked 10 wickets in the 2015 IPL.
However, Karn wasn’t in good touch in the 2016 IPL, he scored 36 runs and picked no wickets in the 5 matches he played for SRH. Mumbai Indians roped in Karn Sharma in 2017, which resulted in winning their third IPL title. Karn picked 13 wickets in 9 matches for Mumbai that year, Later he was released into the 2018 auction pool. CSK bagged him in want of an Indian leg-spinner but he did not find a regular place during his tenure in the team. At the 2022 Mega Auction, Karn Sharma was bought for his base price of INR 50 lakhs by RCB. He picked 10 wickets in 7 matches he played for RCB in the 2023 IPL. RCB retained Karn Sharma ahead of the 2024 IPL, after witnessing his noteworthy performance in the previous season.

Karn Sharma IPL Salary
Royal Challengers Bangalore drafted the leg-spinner in the early stage of his career for 1.2 Crores in the 2009 IPL auction. Unfortunately, Karn Sharma missed out on 4 years in IPL after 2009 due to his poor form with the ball. Later, he was picked up by the newly formed Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013 for 1 Crore. Karn Sharma straightaway created an impact in his debut season for SRH. Hyderabad retained Karn Sharma for 3.75 Crores for the next three editions. SRH released him ahead of the 2017 auction, where Mumbai Indians roped him for 3.20 Crores.
Mumbai released him after his valuable performance throughout the tournament. CSK signed Karn Sharma for 5 Crores in the 2018 IPL. However, the leg-spinner wasn’t able to secure his spot in the regular team. CSK released him after 4 years, ahead of the 2022 mega auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore signed the Indian Leg-spinner for his base price of 50 Lakhs in the 2022 auction. Karn Sharma being the most experienced spinner in the RCB squad, will now have to lead their spin department in the 2024 IPL.
