Despite scoring a competitive total of 171/5 against India in their first Super Four match, Pakistan were dominated and ultimately defeated. Their batting performance was a significant improvement for the team this tournament.
Sahibzada Farhan, who was given two opportunities, capitalized on them to score 58 runs from 45 balls. Fakhar Zaman, who seemed to be in excellent form, was controversially dismissed after scoring 15 runs. Saim Ayub (21 runs from 17 balls) and Mohammad Nawaz (21 runs from 19 balls) couldn’t build on the fast start.
Agha Salman (17 runs from 13 balls) and Faheem Ashraf (20 runs from 8 balls) added a quick 22 runs in nine balls at the end of the innings, pushing Pakistan’s total past 170.
Pakistan’s bowlers struggled to make an impact, failing to secure early breakthroughs and apply pressure on the Indian batsmen. Only Haris Rauf (2/26) and Faheem Ashraf (1/31) managed to concede fewer than eight runs per over.
Pakistan Over/Under Tips
Sahibzada Farhan Total Runs Over 21.5 @ 1.85 (1XBET) – Farhan is the leading run-scorer for Pakistan, amassing 132 runs in 4 matches, averaging 33. He has scored over 25 runs in three of the last four matches played.
Sri Lanka Preview
Sri Lanka entered this contest following a hard-fought loss to Bangladesh in their last match. Batting first, they posted a good score of 168/7. Former skipper Dasun Shanaka showcased his power-hitting with a magnificent unbeaten half-century, scoring 64 runs off 37 balls, which included three fours and six sixes.
Kusal Mendis (34 runs from 25 balls), Pathum Nissanka (22 runs from 15 balls), and Charith Asalanka (21 runs from 12 balls) all played valuable cameos. However, Sri Lanka’s scoring rate slowed in the final two overs, as they managed to add only 15 runs, which ultimately proved to be costly.
In the bowling department, Nuwan Thushara struck early and Wanindu Hasaranga also dismissed the in-form Litton Das within the first seven overs. However, a counter-attack from the Bangladeshi batsmen followed in the middle overs.
The Sri Lankan spinners failed to apply pressure, and their fast bowlers, Chameera and Thushara, were both conceding more than eight runs per over. Despite impressive spells from Dasun Shanaka (2/21) and Wanindu Hasaranga (2/22), they couldn’t keep the game in check.
